The performance is scheduled for Saturday, February 14 at 7 p.m. at the Satellite High School Performing Arts Center in Satellite Beach. The program includes multiple selections by legendary composer John Williams, including Across the Stars from Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones and The Star Wars Saga. Music from Star Trek is also featured, including Jerry Goldsmith’s Star Trek First Contact and the Symphonic Suite from Star Trek. The concert further explores the genre with selections from the Alien film franchise, as well as music from Independence Day, Cocoon, The X Files, and Avatar The Way of Water.

Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Conductor and Artistic Director Aaron T. Collins said the concert reflects the enduring popularity of science fiction film music and its ability to engage audiences of all ages. He noted that many orchestra members plan to dress as characters from well known sci fi films, and audience members are encouraged to do the same.

Collins emphasized that the concert also serves as an opportunity to introduce young people to orchestral music, with free admission offered to concertgoers 18 and under as well as college students with a valid ID.
