BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — A new survey released by The Tarrance Group shows Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds holding a commanding lead among likely Republican primary voters in Florida.

According to the memorandum dated April 8, 2026, Donalds garners 50% support on the Republican primary ballot, while all other candidates remain in the single digits.

Florida’s premier liberty-themed celebration, the 17th Annual Constitution Day Dinner, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 30, at the Radisson Resort at the Port Convention Center in Cape Canaveral.

The survey, conducted March 30 through April 2, included 600 likely Florida voters, with an oversample of Republican primary voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.1% for all voters and 4.7% for Republican primary voters.

Poll results indicate Donalds support has increased by four points since January. The report highlights stronger gains in key regions, including a 14-point increase in the Tampa Bay media market and a 7-point rise in the Florida Panhandle.

The survey also found that awareness of former President Donald Trump’s endorsement of Donalds has grown. More than half (53%) of Republican primary voters said they are aware of the endorsement, up from 44% in January. Awareness is highest in the Tampa Bay area at 57% and stands at 52% in the Panhandle.

Additionally, the poll shows broader voter sentiment on policy issues. A majority of Florida voters (54%) and 75% of Republican voters expressed support for a proposed national AI policy framework to establish safety standards, protect children, and promote innovation among U.S.-based companies.

The findings suggest Donalds has consolidated early support within the Republican primary electorate while also benefiting from increased visibility tied to high-profile endorsements and targeted messaging efforts across the state.
