Melbourne Police released more information about a body found on the Intracoastal Waterway along the north side of the Melbourne Causeway on Tuesday.
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police released more information about a body found in the Intracoastal Waterway, along the north side of the Melbourne Causeway on Tuesday.
Police say they located a dead adult male in shallow water just after 8 a.m. around the barrier wall of the causeway.
According to police, his body was found near his campsite found along the riverbank west of the recovery.
The Melbourne Police Dive Recovery Team responded to assist with the recovery of the individual from the water.
Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
At this time, there are no indications of a criminal investigation.
The man has been identified. However, his name is being withheld until notification of his next of kin.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
