Palm Bay Police Promotes Parker Farmer to Lieutenant, Assigned as Night Shift Watch Commander

During 10 years on the SWAT team, Farmer operated on the entry team and sniper team

The Palm Bay Police Department announced the promotion of Anthony “Parker” Farmer to Lieutenant. In his new role, he will be assigned to the Uniform Services Division as a Watch Commander on one of our night shifts, which operates from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department announced the promotion of Anthony “Parker” Farmer to Lieutenant.

In his new role, he will be assigned to the Uniform Services Division as a Watch Commander on the PBPD night shifts, which operate from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

In 2007, he became a police officer in North Carolina, where he worked for four years.

In 2011, he transferred to the Palm Bay Police Department and has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, special investigations agent, crime suppression officer, and member of the PBPD SWAT team.

Farmer was later promoted to Corporal before being promoted to Sergeant in 2020, and served on patrol, in the Community Resource Unit, and in the Training and Recruiting Unit.

“During his 10 years on our SWAT team, he operated on the entry team and sniper team before transitioning to the sniper team lead position,” said a Palm Bay Police spokesperson.

“Additionally, Lieutenant Farmer is an instructor for the department, specializing in areas of Firearms Instructor, Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor, Master Taser Instructor, Sig Sauer RDS Instructor, and Glock RDS Instructor.”

Lieutenant Farmer is a graduate of the FDLE Leadership Academy and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from East Carolina University.
