Every application must include an original essay between 500 and 800 words that responds to the official scholarship prompt.
The essay asks applicants to describe how military service influences their educational journey and future career goals. Candidates are encouraged to discuss the leadership qualities, resilience, and sense of purpose gained through military service, explain how those experiences shape their approach to challenges, and describe how their education will help them contribute positively to their communities, professions, or society. All submitted essays must be the applicant’s original work and must not have been published previously or submitted for another scholarship competition.
The S&G Scholarship for Veterans awards a one-time scholarship of $1,000 to one deserving undergraduate veteran. Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2027, and the scholarship recipient will be announced on April 15, 2027.

• Proof of undergraduate enrollment
