BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – While Florida’s Zone A archery season began Aug. 1, hunters in Brevard County still have several weeks to prepare before the opening of the season.
Brevard County is located in Zone C, where archery season will run from Sept. 19 through Oct. 18, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Hunters in Brevard County are encouraged to use the coming weeks to inspect trail cameras, practice at the range and ensure their bows and other equipment are ready for opening weekend.
Hunters should also purchase the required licenses and permits before entering the field. Unless exempt, those participating in archery season must have a Florida hunting license, deer permit and archery season permit.
Additional permits may be required when hunting on wildlife management areas.
Hunters should review the regulations for the specific property they plan to visit because wildlife management area dates and rules may differ from statewide seasons.
