Joan Latham (Koontz), 88, died on Oct. 30, 2022, at Palm Cottages in Rockledge, FL. She was born on July 6, 1934, in Washington D.C., the daughter of Cecil Koontz and Lydia Grace Tanney (Potter). She served in the U.S. Navy as a Wave in the 1950s but took on a new service role as the wife of Lt. Buford E. Latham. Her duties included being a single parent while her husband was away in Vietnam and organizing family moves to Charleston, SC; Indian Head, MD; Napoli, Italy; and Virginia Beach, VA. […]
