The Cocoa High School JROTC cadets were invited to participate in a special field trip to Patrick Space Force Base to get a glimpse of the facility known as the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC). Remembering Banana River Naval Air Station Fox Terrier Mascot, Second Class ‘Skippy’ After 80 Years

One such animal was “Skippy,” who was the mascot of Headquarters Squadron 12, or Hedron 12, stationed at Banana River Naval Air Station (BRNAS), which became Patrick Air Force Base in 1950, and now, Patrick Space Force Base.
