Tarean Folston of Cocoa High School selected the Irish on Wednesday over a bevy of scholarship offers including Florida State, Louisiana State, Florida and Oregon.

Folston is the nephew of former Oakland Raiders defensive end James Folston.

He was honored as a First Team SpaceCoastDaily.com All-Star running back and led the Cocoa Tigers to the Class 4A state semifinals last fall while playing for coach John Wilkinson.

During his senior season at Cocoa, Folston ran for 1,722 yards on 222 rushes in 2012 scoring 16 touchdowns.

The 5-foot-9 185-pound running back will be playing Friday on national television in the Under Armour game for top prep seniors on ESPN.
