Bayside High Draws Praise For Philanthropic Efforts

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Bayside High School in Palm Bay has been selected as the Brevard County recipient for Outstanding Service by a High School by the Jefferson Awards-Deloitte Students in Action (SIA) group.

BAYSIDELOGO-180Bayside was selected at the 2013 Regional Competition held at the Brevard County School Board offices in Viera on April 18.

It was recognized for for best showcasing the program’s seven goals in the Jefferson Awards Turnkey System and for their philanthropic contribution to the community and their school.

They have helped to pave the way for greater volunteerism throughout Central Florida.

During the 2012-2013 school year, the SIA team at Bayside completed many community service projects in support of local non-profits both with monetary and in-kind support.

They used social media to attract more attention to their work, partnered with many clubs and organizations in the school to increase awareness and have tracked over 20,000 service hours by their school with a financial impact of more than $430,000 dollars to the community.
