Florida Tech Football 2014 Season Tickets Now On Sale

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech season ticket holders from the Panthers’ inaugural 2013 football season have their first opportunity to renew their seats for the 2014 season at Saturday’s 6 p.m. Spring Game at Palm Bay High School’s Pirate Stadium.

The intrasquad scrimmage is free and open to the public.

Season ticket renewals will be accepted at a tent adjacent to the field and across from the concession stand.

After the Panthers’ Spring Game, fans may renew their season tickets starting on Monday, March 24 through Friday, May 16 by contacting the Florida Tech Ticket Office at 321-674-6228. Last year’s season ticket holders will also receive a season ticket renewal form in the mail.

Pending availability, new season ticket sales will begin Monday, June 2.

The season ticket prices for the 2014 season remain $65 for adults and $40 for FIT employees with ID, seniors ages 65 and above, and children ages 5-16. For FIT employees, there is a maximum of two adult season tickets per order at the discounted rate of $40.

All season tickets are located in the premium seating sections, which are Sections 3-5 on the Panthers’ sideline.

“We received terrific support from our fans in our first football season,” Athletics Director Bill Jurgens said. “Our season ticket holders played an important role in our success, and we thank them for their loyalty to the program. I encourage them to renew their season tickets at this time to guarantee their same seats from the inaugural season.”

FIVE HOME GAMES SET FOR 2014

In their second year this fall, the Panthers will play five home games at Pirate Stadium: Saturday, Sept. 13 vs. Ave MariaThursday, Oct. 2 vs. Delta StateSaturday, Oct. 18 vs. Gulf South Conference Co-Champion North AlabamaSaturday, Oct. 25 vs. Mississippi College; and Saturday, Nov. 15 vs. Valdosta State.

“We are excited to get in front of our fans once again,” head coach Steve Englehart said. “The support Brevard County gave us last season was extraordinary, and we look forward to even bigger crowds in 2014. I have been impressed with the way our team has improved this spring, and I think our fans will see that improvement as well.”

The games against Ave Maria, North Alabama and Valdosta State will begin at 6 p.m. The only game scheduled to begin in the afternoon is the Panthers’ Homecoming Game against new GSC member Mississippi College and it will start at 1 p.m. A start time for FIT’s Thursday night game against Delta State has not been announced.

florida_tech_logo“We conducted a survey at the end of the season and received great feedback from ticketholders,” Jurgens said. “Our fans recommended that we move our games to the evening. Starting this fall, four of our five home games will begin at 6 p.m. or later, which should provide relief from the heat.”

Since season tickets for the Panthers’ inaugural season sold out last fall, fans interested in purchasing additional season tickets will be placed on a waiting list. After the renewal period ends on May 16, fans who request additional season tickets will be contacted about their order.

Led by Englehart, the Panthers went 5-7 in their inaugural season. It was highlighted by a 32-20 win over fellow first-year program Alderson Broaddus in the first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II Futures Bowl.

Led by Coach Steve Englehart, the Panthers went 5-7 in their inaugural season. It was highlighted by a 32-20 win over fellow first-year program Alderson Broaddus in the first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II Futures Bowl.

Four of the team’s wins came on its home field at Pirate Stadium. FIT defeated Stetson in its inaugural game, Shorter for its first GSC win, Warner for its first Homecoming win and Webber International in its regular-season finale.

The Panthers return seven players named All-GSC last fall – defensive back Manny Abad, linebacker Justin Arcune, tight end Gabe Hughes, wide receiver Xavier Milton, offensive lineman Ramsey Sellers, defensive lineman Skylar Sheffield and linebacker Chris Stapleton. Stapleton also earned Co-GSC Defensive Freshman of the Year.

Arcune, Hughes, Milton and Stapleton were selected to the 2013 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-Super Region Two Team. Stapleton was chosen the super region’s Freshman of the Year.
