BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) officially cut the ribbon on Friday in front of its new kiosk desk at Port Canaveral’s Exploration Tower.

The desk’s soft opening began on October 22, 2014 and since that time, the CVB has assisted over 5,500 tourists and counting.

Now established with a rotation of over 12 dedicated volunteers, the CVB looks forward to continuing to provide added customer service in the tourism industry for the Cocoa Beach area.

The CVB’s Tourist Information Center, currently located in Cape Canaveral off of A1A, is proud of its partnership with Port Canaveral and the Tower.

“Today is a great day not just for the CVB and for Exploration Tower, but for this community which has given so much back to us,” said Jennifer Sugarman, Director of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“Port Canaveral is an economic powerhouse for not just the Space Coast but the entire State of Florida and the CVB is fortunate to be part of this burgeoning area. This new and mutually beneficial partnership has allowed us to expand our efforts to tourists and cruise ship passengers who may have otherwise not understood all our great area has to offer. It is also a contributing factor to the CVB’s significantly increased economic impact to this community of over $18.5 million a year.”

The CVB’s kiosk desk aims to significantly enhance the reach of its welcoming efforts to tourists while also increasing its promotional efforts of CVB partners to more visitors, locals and businesses than ever before.

“The CVB kiosk desk here in the lobby area of the Exploration Tower has been a great addition,” said Sarah O’shea, Assistant Director for Recreation at Canaveral Port Authority’s Exploration Tower.

“The CVB volunteers are able to offer information to our visitors not only about the Port, but also area attractions, restaurants and activities available in all of Brevard County. They have been a pleasure to work with and we do hope to continue this relationship with the Cocoa Beach CVB.”
