ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Orlando City SC announced it will premier its documentary titled “Making History” on the Kickoff of the 2015 Orlando Film Festival on Oct. 21 at the Cobb Plaza Cinema Café, 155 S. Orange Ave, Orlando, Fla. 32801.
Orlando City players, coaching staff and executives are expected to attend.
The first screening will take place at 6:30 p.m., with additional screenings at 7:45 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Following the premier screening, a media and fan Q&A session will take place on the plaza outside the theater on Orange Avenue.
The 47-minute film was produced by Orlando City’s Decio Lopes. A long-time producer in Brazil, Lopes brought his cinematic expertise to Orlando in early 2015 joining Orlando City’s New Business Ventures group.
“This important piece of work captures the historic day of March 8th – the first ever MLS game for Orlando City, the first goal – and all that led up to that incredible moment,” said Lopes.
“It was an honor to create this project with the people directly involved in the journey. But more importantly, to produce this for the generations of future fans to see how their Club was formed.”
The documentary includes behind the scenes footage of the Club’s history from its very first days as the Austin Aztex in Texas, throughout its move to Orlando and success in USL, to its ultimate launch in Major League Soccer in 2015.
Several key individuals involved in the Club’s success participated in the film including Majority Owner and Chairman Flavio Augusto da Silva, Founder and President Phil Rawlins, Chief Executive Officer Alex Leitao, Kay Rawlins Director of Community Affairs, and Head Coach Adrian Heath.

All of the blood, sweat and hard work that went into creating one of MLS’ most successful and recognized brands will play out on the big screen for all to see and enjoy.”
The film also includes footage from some of the team’s historic matches in USL and MLS.
