Wuesthoff Names New Chief Executive Officers For Melbourne, Rockledge Medical Centers

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Ron Gicca has been named Chief Executive Officer of Wuesthoff Medical Center – Melbourne and Gary Malaer has been named Chief Executive Officer at Wuesthoff Medical Center – Rockledge, effective November 1.
Gicca is a Florida native and a graduate of the University of Florida.
Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Wuesthoff Medical Center – Melbourne, and previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Sebastian River Medical Center.
“I look forward to continuing to work with the board, physicians, employees and volunteers at Wuesthoff Melbourne,” said Gicca.
Wuesthoff Medical Center – Melbourne, located at 250 N. Wickham Road, opened in 2002 and has 119 private rooms.

“Ron’s knowledge and experience are a great fit for the role of CEO at Wuesthoff Melbourne,” said Dr. Emram Imami, Chief of Staff at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Melbourne.
Malaer is a native Texan, graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and the University of Dallas.
His background is in operations, having worked with hospitals for 17 years in various positions including VP of Operations and Chief Operating Officer of South Bay Hospital.
Most recently, Malaer served as Chief Operating Officer of Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge.
“When I came to this facility as Chief Operating Officer, I didn’t expect that I would be offered the opportunity to become the CEO,” said Malaer.
“I am honored to have been selected to lead the Rockledge hospital and I look forward to this challenging and rewarding position.”
Wuesthoff Medical Center – Rockledge, located at 110 Longwood Avenue, is a full service, 298 bed acute care hospital, offering a complete complement of health services and programs.
