UPDATE: Pedestrian Identified In Wednesday Morning’s Deadly Crash In Melbourne

The 27-year-old man killed in Wednesday morning’s incident has been identified as Alexander Santana of Orlando.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly incident that killed a pedestrian early Wednesday morning after being hit by two vehicles near US 192 and Sweetwater Dr.

According to the FHP report, a 2008 Mitsubishi was traveling west on US 192 at around 12 a.m. For an unknown reason, the pedestrian was standing on US 192, directly in the vehicles path and was subsequently struck. Due to the impact, the pedestrian ended up in the outside lane where a 2009 Hyundai vehicle then struck the pedestrian again.

The 27-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pedestrian’s identity will be released when the next of kin is notified.

The driver of the first vehicle, 2008 Mitsubishi, didn’t suffer any injuries and is identified as 27-year-old Natalia Alvarez of Kissimmee.

The driver of the second vehicle, 2009 Hyundai, also didn’t suffer any injuries and is identified as 23-year-old Tyler Bell of Melbourne.

Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
