Commissioner Kristine Isnardi unanimously selected as chair for the coming year

WATCH: Recently elected District 2 Brevard County Commissioner Bryan Lober and second-term District 4 County Commissioner Curt Smith was sworn in Tuesday evening in the commission chambers at the Government Center in Viera. District 5 Commissioner Kristine Isnardi was unanimously selected as the chair for the coming year after serving as vice chair this year.

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Recently elected District 2 Brevard County Commissioner Bryan Lober and second-term District 4 County Commissioner Curt Smith were sworn in Tuesday evening in the commission chambers at the Government Center in Viera.

Lober’s wife Rebecca, mom Randee, dad Cliff, brother Neal and 91-year-old grandmother Irene Lober were on hand to watch him take the oath of office from Brevard County Judge Benjamin Garagozlo – and then be elected vice-chair unanimously by his colleagues.

District 5 Commissioner Kristine Isnardi was unanimously selected as the chair for the coming year after serving as vice chair this year.

Smith, a Republican, is serving his second four-year term after defeating Democrat Matt Fleming in the General Election on Nov. 6, and former two-term County Commissioner Trudie Infantini in the Primary Election last August.

Lober beat Democrat Victoria Mitchner in the General Election and defeated former two-term Brevard County Commissioner Chuck Nelson in the Primary Election in August.

A resident of Rockledge, Lober is an attorney and small business owner who self-financed his campaign. He is a graduate of Stetson University College of Law and is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale Hubbell.

This July, Lober was recognized by the Brevard County Association for Women Lawyers with their annual Founder’s Award for his commitment to promoting equality in the legal profession.

Brevard County’s District 2 includes Merritt Island, Cocoa, Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Avon by the Sea, Rockledge, Kennedy Space Center, Snug Harbor and Patrick Air Force Base.

In his first statement of his second term, Smith simply said, “I’m back!” He is a graduate of the University of Miami and was a longtime business owner before taking office in 2014.

Smith’s District 4 includes Suntree, Viera, Indian Harbour Beach, Melbourne, Palm Shores, Rockledge and Satellite Beach.
