WEEK 2 SCOREBOARD: Merritt Island Cruises by Melbourne, Eau Gallie Stomps Heritage

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Week 2 of the high school football season featured several commanding performances across Brevard County, with Titusville, Eau Gallie, Viera and Satellite among the teams earning convincing victories.

Titusville set the tone immediately during its 44-9 rout of Holy Trinity, striking for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage.

Senior quarterback Remy Vigne connected with senior Tank Harvey for a 70-yard touchdown, giving the Terriers an early lead they would never relinquish.

Harvey finished the night with three touchdowns as Titusville controlled the game from start to finish.

Eau Gallie also delivered a dominant performance, shutting out Heritage 41-0.

Commodores senior quarterback Joseph Allen threw two touchdown passes to junior Troy Silberzahn, while senior Donovan Richardson scored twice on the ground.

Sophomore X’Zavier Corbin added a 65-yard touchdown run, and junior Zay Hawkins scored his second touchdown of the season to help Eau Gallie secure the shutout victory.

Viera rolled past Sebastian River 35-8 as sophomore quarterback Jaamal Crittington threw three touchdown passes. Senior Duke Butler added two rushing touchdowns for the Hawks.

Melbourne Central Catholic survived a close contest against Benjamin, earning a 35-28 victory, while New Smyrna Beach defeated Astronaut 48-21.

Bayside defeated Palm Bay 42-25 behind a four-touchdown performance from junior Zion Jones.

Satellite recorded one of the night’s most decisive victories, shutting out Legacy Charter 56-0. Merritt Island Christian also posted a shutout, defeating Bell Creek Academy 39-0.

The Rockledge-Spruce Creek game was rescheduled for Sept. 14, while Cocoa’s scheduled matchup against Fort Pierce Central was canceled.
