Projected 1st Round Pick in 2019 NFL Draft

Offensive Tackle Jawaan Taylor has declared for the NFL draft following Florida’s 41-15 blowout win over No. 7 Michigan on Saturday.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Another former Cocoa Tiger and current Florida Gator, Jawaan Taylor, has declared for the NFL draft following Florida’s 41-15 blowout win over No. 7 Michigan on Saturday.

Taylor was last registered at 6-foot-5 and 335-pound offensive lineman. NFL scouts have been projecting Taylor as a potential first round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

NFL scouts like his ability to play both right tackle and left tackle with ease.

“I want to thank Coach John Wilkinson and Cocoa High School for helping me make the right transition from a high school teen to a young man,” said Taylor in a statement.

“As for these past few years, I have enjoyed a truly remarkable experience of being a Florida Gator, where my teammates have made me a better player each and every day.”

Taylor is the second Cocoa Tiger this year on the Florida Gators to declare early for the NFL Draft after the Peach Bowl MVP, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, made his announcement before the Gators 41-15 win over Michigan.

Taylor was heavily recruited in the 2016 recruiting class. He was initially committed Miami but eventually flipped to Florida.
