‘Run For The Roses Party’ Promises Fun For All

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Saturday’s Kentucky Derby will be celebrated in style not only in the Bluegrass State, but also in Titusville.

The Historic Pritchard House in Titusville is hosting a Kentucky Derby “Run For The Roses Party” from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Historic Pritchard House is at 424 South Washington Avenue in Titusville. It is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and was built in 1891.

Party participants will be able to watch the race on jumbo screen televisions and mint juleps, wine and lemonade will be available and complimentary snacks will be served.

Music for the party will be provided by folk singer Chris Kahl.

Guests should come dressed in their finest attire and their will be a “Fancy Kentucky Derby Hat” contest for women who wish to enter.

The winning hat will receive a gift basket from About an Inch.

There will be a horse racing memorabilia exhibit on hand courtesy of Gillespie Racing Stables of Florida and Kentucky.

Silent auction items at the party will include a leather halter shadow box with an engraved brass plate entitled “Secretaria”  in honor of the 1973 Triple Crown legend and a horseshoe worn by  Musket Man, who placed third in the 2009 Kentucky Derby.

Advance tickets are priced at $25 through Friday and $30 on the day of the event.
