Fire Scorches Palm Bay Convenience Store

Quarter-Million In Damage

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – A swift moving fire caused more than $250,000 damage to a convenience store in Palm Bay overnight.

Just before 3 a.m. Monday, Palm Bay Fire-Rescue responded to 2595 Emerson Drive SE to a reported structure fire at a Kangaroo Express Convenience Store.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire which appeared to originate in a storage room of the business.

Further investigation by the fire marshal revealed a ceiling light fixture may have had some type of electrical malfunction which triggered the fire.

In addition to smoke damage, some retail merchandise was burned and the building sustained some structural damage.
