Merrill Lochmaier

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Merrill Lochmaier, 83, of West Melbourne, a loving father and devoted husband, born in Michigan City, Indiana on February 21, 1929, died May 16, 2012 in Melbourne, Florida.

Mr. Lochmaier, raised in Indiana, served proudly in the United States Navy.

He married Yvonne Lochmaier in 1953 and moved from Indiana to Florida in 1955. Settling in Ft. Lauderdale.

Mr. Lochmaier became a general contractor, building in the area for 32 years.

Mr. Lochmaier and his wife moved to Melbourne in 1987.

Mr. Lochmaier was predeceased by his wife in 2001. He was also predeceased by his brother, Henry Lee Lochmaier killed in action serving in the US Navy in the South Pacific in 1945.

His parents Heinrich and Lydia Lochmaier emigrated from Uberlingen, Germany to the US in 1899.

He is survived by a daughter, Lindi Perry and husband, Scott Perry of St. Petersburg, Florida; and a son, Merrill Lochmaier II of Palm Beach, Florida.

The family requests no flowers.

Services will be held Browlie-Maxwell Funeral Home, 1010 Palmetto Avenue, Melbourne on Wednesday, May 23rd, at 2:00 p.m.
