BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Police have arrested and charged a suspected bank robber following a daring robbery Monday afternoon in Titusville.

David Clay McCarey, 41, was taken  into custody today and has been charged with robbery and grand theft.

Detectives released surveillance photos of a tan or gold four-door Jeep SUV and photos from the bank earlier this week and say tips from the public that helped lead to McCarey’s arrest.

A man robbed the TD Bank at 201 Cheney Highway in Titusville about 2:04 p.m. Monday while wearing a light colored T-shirt and dark long pants.

“The Titusville Police Department would like to thank the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office for their invaluable assistance in McCarey’s capture and our local news media and community members who were instrumental in the identification and capture of a violent felony offender,” said Titusville Detective Matt Adams.
