Velma Cayer, 85, Spent Her Life Devoted To Her Family

OBITUARY

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA — Velma Cayer, 85, of Merritt Island, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Cape Canaveral Hospital.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to Antonio and Caroline (Angiolillo) Tucci.
Velma moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida in 1977, where she resided for 23 years before moving to Merritt Island.
“Mama” as she was affectionately known by all, spent her life devoted to her family.
She had a kind and generous spirit and was cherished by those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lee Cayer. Velma has two children, son, Steve Cayer, his wife, Donna; and her granddaughter, Stefanie of Merritt Island, Florida; daughter, Carol Turcotte, her husband, Timothy Buckley of Merritt Island, Florida; her grandson, Dustin Turcotte, his wife, Lennore; and her great-grandson, Zachary Lee of Orlando, Florida. Also surviving are her sister, Vera Turcotte of Decatur, Georgia, and brother, Dr. Edmond Tucci of Stockton, New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by her twin, Sister Lucy Lavoie and brother, Raymond Tucci.
The family will receive visitors Friday evening, May 11th from 6;00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Beckman- Williamson Funeral Home, 101 N. Brevard Ave., Cocoa Beach, Florida 32931.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.mm, Saturday, May 12th at Church of Our Saviour’s Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach, followed by a private family entombment at Florida Memorial Gardens.
