Violent Robber Strikes Palm Bay Clerk With Bottle

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Detectives with the Major Case Unit in Palm Bay are currently searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred Wednesday night at a local liquor store.

Just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday patrol officers and detectives responded to the Palm Bay Wine and Spirits store located at 190 Malabar Rd SW after receiving reports of a robbery in which the store clerk was hit over the head with a glass bottle.

Witnesses described seeing two males fleeing the store at the time of the incident.

A review of the store surveillance video shows a white male entering the store and grabbing two bottles of Bacardi rum from the shelves and leaving without paying.

The store clerk went after the individual as he attempted to leave and was subsequently hit over the head with one of the bottles of rum.  The clerk was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries which were not serious.

The suspect was seen leaving the scene with another unknown person.  The suspect is described as a white male wearing a dark t-shirt white ball cap and dark colored Bermuda style shorts.
