Carol Lane Thompson Burke Bond, age 72, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away on February 6, 2012, surrounded by her family. Carol, the daughter of the late Gertrude Wallace and Robert Thompson, was born in Yonkers, New York, resided in Willington, Connecticut and Vero Beach, Florida, until she moved to Brevard County, Florida, sometime around 1983.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Bond; and her four children, Lee Ann Trusler, Denise Cates, Kelly Stewart (husband, Roland) and Patrick Burke (wife, Nancy); 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Carol was a realtor and mortgage broker in Connecticut for many years working in the family business. After moving to Brevard County she became the Regional Vice President for SunBelt Mortgage.

Carol had a great love for dogs and was a breeder for many years. Her passion was focused on the working breeds, specifically German Shepherds and Rottweilers. Her accomplishments in the “dog world” were widespread and included Best of Shows, group placements and many Best of Breeds. Carol was also active in the rescue community and often fostered dogs in need of a good temporary home. She mentored many people in the dog community and will be missed by all.

She leaves behind her beloved Rottweiler companions, Faith and Bert.
