BREVARD COUNTY • INDIALANTIC, FLORIDA –Aubrey J. Derry, 87, of Indialantic, Florida lost his long battle with cancer on Aug. 7, 2012.
He was born Jan. 31, 1925 in Northport, Long Island, NY where he grew up on the Cheesborough Estate.
A veteran of WW II he served his country with the U.S. Naval Armed Guard from 1942-1946. He was a carpenter at Mitchell Airforce Base, a carpenter/plans examiner for the town of Smithtown, NY, a building and plans inspector in NY and FL and a school crossing guard.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Julia and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife,Christine of 16 years, his son, daughter, sister, granddaughters, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 11, at Beach Funeral Home, 1689 S. Patrick Dr. Indian Harbour Beach, Florida 32937 . (Phone 321-777-4640). A military honors service will be held at 11:45 a.m.
