DECISION 2012

ENDORSEMENT: ‘Your Dedication and Professionalism Are Apparent’

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Beach Area Hotel and Lodging Association has endorsed Helen Voltz for Brevard County Commissioner, District 3. This endorsement follows those of former U.S. Congressman Dave Weldon, Brevard County Sheriff Jack Parker and the Brevard County Professional Firefighters Local 2969.

“We feel that you would serve the public well, and that your grasp of the impact of tourism on our County would also benefit our industry – therefore we have decided to endorse your candidacy for County Commissioner,” said Cocoa Beach Area Hotel and Lodging Association Board Member Tom Williamson in a letter to Voltz.

“The endorsement decision for this race was very difficult – your dedication and professionalism are apparent,” said Williamson.

WELDON ENDORSEMENT

Dave Weldon

“I have known and worked with Helen Voltz for 20 years. She is honest, hard working and a solid conservative – the kind of person we need serving in government and she has my support,” said Weldon.

Weldon, who represented the Space Coast from 1994 to 2008 in the U.S. House of Representatives, announced last Friday that he will join two other Republicans seeking to unseat incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.

Voltz, a resident of Brevard County for over 33 years, served as Commissioner for Brevard County’s 3rd District from 2004-2008. Voltz’s past public service also includes four years as Commissioner for District 5 (1996-2000) and three years on the Palm Bay City Council (1990-1993).

During the past two years, Voltz has also served as president of the Republican Women’s Network.
