Veteran Firefighter Earns Promotion To Lieutenant

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – The latest selection for promotion to lieutenant for Brevard County Fire Rescue happens to a veteran firefighter who has come up through the ranks.

Brevard County Fire Rescue Lt. Jeff Taylor said Firefighter/Paramedic Kenny Appling was officially promoted to the rank of Lieutenant at a ceremony at Fire Rescue’s headquarters in Rockledge on Monday.

The ceremony was attended by Fire Rescue officials as well as friends and family of Lieutenant Appling and was presided over by Brevard County Deputy Fire Chief Dennis Neterer.

After being sworn in, Appling was presented with his Lieutenant helmet, bugles and badge.

He is an 11-year veteran of the department and most recently served at Station 48 in West Viera as a member of the department’s Special Operations Team.

Appling will be reassigned to a floating Lieutenant position.
