Fall Tennis Season Draws To End For Panthers

Play Resumes In Spring

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech wrapped ups the fall tennis season at the third and final day of the Varner Invitational at Rollins College on Sunday.

The Panthers had one player remaining in competition on the final day.

Panthers sophomore Diego Ramirez opened the day in the semifinal round of the flight “D” singles bracket.

Ramirez advanced to the semifinals on day two with victories over Lynn’s Luca Pavanelli, 7-6, 6-2, and against Lander’s Paulo Fernandez,1-6, 6-4, 10-4.

On Sunday, Ramirez matched up with Rollins’ Keegan Burger. Burger held on to win the first set, 6-3, and then swept set two, 6-0, to eliminate Ramirez from the bracket.

With this tournament, Florida Tech’s men’s tennis team has concluded its fall season and now will look to gear up for the spring season under coach Bill Macom.
