Florida 2012 TechXpoFlorida’s Premier Technology & Innovation Exposition
The Melbourne Regional Chamber of East Central Florida, along with its Presenting Sponsor, GE Transportation, are proud to present the 2nd annual Florida TechXpo. The event will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, from 10AM to 5PM.The event is hosted by Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne –the only independent, technological university in the southeast – and will be held at the Clemente Center.TechXpo, referred to as “tech-spo,” is an exposition of the technology and innovations created by technology and manufacturing companiesthroughout Florida. This single-day event allows companies with advanced technologies and innovations to display their products and services to other companies looking for resources and suppliers.
TechXpo also celebrates Manufacturing Day the week prior, which highlights the importance of manufacturing to the nation’s economy and draws attention to high-skill jobs available in manufacturing fields. He will be joined by Cynthia Flores, First Vice President of SunTrust Global Trade Solutions, who will cover Export Financing Strategies. Her presentation will include programs offered by the Export-Import Bank of the U.S., the U.S. Small Business Administration and other vehicles for obtaining export financing and securing payment for export sales. This session will be held from 10:45 -11:30AM on the Florida Institute of Technology campus in the Olin Engineering Building, Room 118, adjacent to the Clemente Center.

The afternoon breakout session will be held from 2:30-3:15PM, in the Olin Engineering Building, Room 118, featuring Don Platt, Program Director for the Florida Institute of Technology’s Space Systems Master’s Degree Program. Mr. Platt will present “Changing Frontiers on the Space Coast” discussing the transition of business on the Space Coast after the shuttle program, the impact of commercial enterprises and the new opportunities for the high-tech work force. He is the founder and president of Micro Aerospace Solutions, Inc., a small engineering consulting business specializing in space and commercial product design and development.
