Message from Sheriff Wayne Ivey

SHERIFF WAYNE IVEY: A few days ago, sweet Polly went missing from her home, where she has two puppies of her own. Thank you to the citizen who heard Polly’s calls for help and called it in, and also a huge “Thank You” to Deputy Hall for rescuing Polly and showing that our Deputies work hard every day to keep our citizens safe…even the four-legged ones.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – With all the doom and gloom on the news these days, every once in a while we need a little “The Good Stuff!”

A few days ago, sweet Polly went missing from her home, where she has two puppies of her own.

Now if you’re a mom, I know you may be relating to Polly and understanding she probably needed a little peace and quiet, except it had been 3 days.

Thankfully, yesterday a good citizen happened to hear what they believed to be a dog barking in the area behind their house, where there was also a canal.

Deputy Hall responded to the call, and after searching the area, he located Polly all the way down in the drainage canal.

Her tiny little legs made it difficult for her to try to climb out, but thankfully Deputy Hall has a lot longer legs and was able to get Polly out.

Polly’s family was subsequently located, and they were so happy to see her safe and sound.

We’re pretty sure Polly was excited to be out of that ditch and back to her home with everyone she loves.

Thank you to the citizen who heard Polly’s calls for help and called it in, and also a huge “Thank You” to Deputy Hall for rescuing Polly and showing that our Deputies work hard every day to keep our citizens safe…even the four-legged ones.

Folks, this kind of stuff right here is exactly why I say Brevard County is the best place on earth to call home, because this, this is the good stuff.

– Sheriff Wayne Ivey
