Recording Artist Suzanah Free

Suzanah will perform with her band at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 on the Miller-Coors Clam Jam Stage.

Self taught on ukelele, guitar and piano, she starting writing music before she was 10-years-old.

After several years at college as a classical piano and music composition major, she dropped out, choosing instead to work in the industry, starting off at a recording studio where she participated singing and recording demos, radio voice-over work, and the ins and outs of music studio production. Her influences were formed from her father, who loved the jazz sounds of the Big Band Era, and her mother’s combined love of Broadway tunes and latin rhythms from her Spanish heritage.

Hawaiian Influence

And in her youth, she became immersed in the Island rhythms found in the standard songs of old Hawaii.

Soon marriage and motherhood took up most of her time, but she kept her dreams of becoming a singer/songwriter alive, by writing and performing original songs in church.

Eventually with life’s twists and turns, she met Danny Ellis, who became the motivation and machine behind getting her music produced.

First performing as a duo working the local clubs and special events scene in Florida, she and Danny performed as the REVEREND DANNY & SISTER BLUES, opening for national acts such as Charlie Daniels, KC & Sunshine Band, Mark Chestnut, David Howe, and more.

Their successful themed entertainment company called KOKOPELI MUSIC, produces themed and specialty events for pubic, private and corporate clients, including a wide range of props and décor for luaus, weddings, casino nights, extravagant, Halloween, Mardi Gras, Oktoberfest and more!

SRAZZ Band

They’re current band, SRAZZ, presents a lively show featuring a variety of Pop, Island, Jazz, Blues and of course, Suzan’s original tunes.

Suzan was the female lead vocalist 2007 – 2008 for the 17 piece big band, SWINGTIME, in Melbourne, Florida. She formed SRAZZ in 2009, which originally was a 5-piece jazz band, featuring some of the best jazz musicians around.

Currently, Suzan performs as a solo, or with the duo or trio version of SRAZZ, playing keyboards and ukelele, presenting a lively show featuring a variety of Pop, Island, Jazz, Blues and of course, Suzan’s original tunes.

Newly Released CD called “Forever Yours”

Her real dreams were finally realized when she met Producer and Arranger Tony Smith. Suzan finally found someone who understood how to convey her heartfelt messages and combine instinctive, beautiful musical arrangements to create her newly released CD “FOREVER YOURS” featuring ‘touch soul’ songs like “Take my Hand”, “My Angel” and “In Your Eyes.”

Adding some spice and sass, she evokes longings of love in her dance number “Makin’ Moves with You” and her joyful love and appreciation to her best friend Danny, in songs “Forever and a Day” and “Forever More.”

Adding the Island dance rhythms to “Jammy Cakes” Suzan feels she can incorporate the playful side of life from the Islands she grew up in. “Believe in Yourself” was written for her children as a reminder to forge ahead and find love, laughter and peace when you follow your heart.

Love and Support of the Military

Suzanah Free performs in recognition of the military at Space Coast Stadium

Her love and understanding of the military was the motivation for “Heroes Fight for Peace” to remind those who are critical of our missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, and “Candle in the Window” reminding us to never give up hope, and keep a candle lit so that our loved ones will always have a light to guide them home.
