BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – What happens every time an angel gets its wings?  If you know the answer to that, or want to find out, the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra has the perfect feel good experience coming up: “Christmas at the Movies.”

The multi-media event kicks off the yuletide season at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at the Scott Center for the Performing Arts at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in north Melbourne.

The innovative program will pair clips from holiday movie classics on screen while providing a live soundtrack.

Joining the symphony will be a chorus of voices to perform Williams’ Three Holiday Songs from Home Alone. In addition, hear the rarely performed classic scores of Currier and Ives, It’s a Wonderful Life, Five Sketches After Dickens, and Polar Express.

And direct from Israel, violin sensation Daniel Askerov joins the symphony to present John Williams’ brilliant adaptation of Jerry Bock’s Fiddler on the Roof.

For Artistic Director Aaron T. Collins, “Christmas at the Movies” strikes a particularly resonant chord.

“Christmas has always been a favorite time of year for me,” said Collins.  “I find that holiday movies and music add to the anticipation.  They make us feel good while reminding us of all we have to celebrate.”

Adult advance tickets are $20 and are available through the orchestra website at http://www.spacecoastsymphony.org/ or at several convenient ticket outlets, including Ace Hardware stores in Indialantic, Cocoa Beach and Satellite Beach, Blue Sky Insurance in Cocoa Village, Tropical Realty of Suntree, Art Expressions in downtown Eau Gallie, A Floral Affair in Merritt Island and Palm Bay Hearing Aid Center.
