The event will be at the Wickham Park Main Pavilion in Melbourne located on the grounds of Brevard Community College’s Melbourne Campus.

The interactive pet fundraiser will kick-off with a quarter mile “pooch” walk-a-thon around the Wickham Park Main Pavilion led by the Paws and Stripes Program participants.

People of all ages are encouraged to bring their four-legged friends along during the walk, but an animal friend is not required for participation.

From the largest teams to individual walkers, everyone’s support is needed to help raise funds to care for the homeless animals of Brevard.

The top three walkers with the most pledge dollars will receive a “fabulous” prize, and the first 75 walkers with pledges of $20 or more receive a free “Paws in the Park” T-shirt.

Pledge forms for walkers are available online at http://crittersavers.com/ or at the animal shelter at 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa.

All proceeds raised from this event will directly benefit the homeless animals in Brevard County.

In addition to the walk-a-thon, the event will include pictures with “Santa Paws”, pet contests, live entertainment, a pet psychic, great food, a vendor village, rescue groups and “ask a vet tech” booth. Contests will be judged by local celebrities and other surprise guests.

Admission and parking are free and all animals must be on a leash and have proof of current shots along with a county tag.
