Titans Top St. Bonaventure In Men’s Golf

BCC Wins By Nine Strokes

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Playing its first of three one-day dual matches of the spring season Brevard Community College’s nationally ranked golf team defeated NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure University on Thursday at the Rockledge Country Club.

Led by medalist Nick Maynard who carded a 69, fifth-ranked BCC outshot St. Bonaventure 287-296.

BCC’s Arthur Leonard finished second with a 72 and Anthony Skirk and Blake Biggs tied for third with St. Bonaventure’s Brian McKenna and Josh Stauffer at 73.

BCC’s Nelson Apsey and St. Bonaventure’s Darren Simons finished at 74. BCC’s Keith Greene and Brett Maue shot 76 along with St. Bonaventure’s Chris Mackey. BCC’s Kyle Benson finished at 80.

“The course played difficult in windy conditions,” BCC head coach Jamie Howell said of the par 71, 6,436-yard layout. It was a good round by Nick Maynard.”

St. Bonaventure is located in Western New York State.

Next up for BCC is a one-day dual match with St. Peter’s University on March 12 at the Rockledge Country Club.
