 BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Brevard County Commissioner Chuck Nelson will host an open house meeting Friday, May 10 in Cocoa that encourages local residents to discuss issues facing the community.

The open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, at the Central Brevard Library and Reference Center at 308 Forrest Ave, in Cocoa. The meeting will be hosted in the reference center. If you can’t walk or drive to the open house, the library is served by Space Coast Area Transit Route #1 and Route #4

Nelson is serving his second term on the county commission after spending 14 years as Director of the Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department. Nelson’s district, District 2, covers the central area of Brevard County, including Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral, Avon by the Sea, Cocoa Beach, Snug Harbor, as well as portions of Cocoa and Rockledge and Patrick Air Force Base.

Nelson has more than 32 years of experience in public service and is an avid boater and fishing enthusiast. Married and the father of one, Nelson resides on Merritt Island and earned a degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from the University of South Florida.
