The Space Coast Cancer Foundation offers an annual 1,000 scholarship to students interested in pursuing oncology nursing, which is administered through the Brevard Community College Foundation. An application and screening process is involved in order to qualify for this scholarship and usually takes place at the beginning of the calendar year.

CARE OF CANCER PATIENTS GRATIFYING

Logsdon, who has just completed her freshman year at Brevard Community College, became interested in oncology nursing while she worked as a massage therapist and had the opportunity to work with cancer patient clients.

“I found the care and massage of cancer patients particularly gratifying and I really enjoyed helping them to feel better,” said Logsdon.

Logsdon enrolled in the two-year nursing program at Brevard Community College with the thought of potentially becoming an oncology nurse.
