BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA  – Evie Hanes is a young lady on a mission to assist needy cancer patients.

Evie surprised everyone at the Space Coast Cancer Foundation office in Titusville last week when she walked in and donated $30 cash to the foundation’s many worthy undertakings.

“Her father built her a lemonade stand and she stood by the road selling lemonade to raise money,” said Space Coast Cancer Center Marketing & Communication Specialist Diane Petrocelli.

Evie, the granddaughter of a patient of Dr. Ashish Dalal of Space Coast Cancer Center, was inspired when she watched her grandmother going through treatment to help other cancer patients.

“She is a little girl with a big heart,” said Tina Norman, President of the Space Coast Cancer Foundation.

Evie will be setting up her lemonade stand on October 3 during the Pink Ribbon Walk/5k at Port Canaveral at the Exploration Tower – a fundraiser for the Space Coast Cancer Foundation, which is organized each year by the Cove Merchants Association (CMA).

She is inviting everyone to come and have a glass of lemonade for a great cause.

The Space Coast Cancer Foundation was established in 2006 with the mission to help Brevard County cancer patients in treatment with the financial and emotional burdens that accompany a cancer diagnosis.
