Tropical Storm Chantal: Tuesday Evening Update

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The National Hurricane Center in Miami has issued an updated advisory on Tropical Storm Chantal. 

According to the National Hurricane Center, as of the Tuesday, July 9 afternoon update, Chantal is located at 15.4°N 64.9°W, moving West-Northwest at 26 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds at 65 miles per hour, with higher gusts.

Minimum central pressure 1006 MB. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 90 miles, mainly to the North of the center.

This general motion is expected to continue with a gradual decrease in forward speed during the next couple of days. On the forecast track, the center of Chantal will pass South of Puerto Rico, tonight.
