BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The memorial service for Harry Goode, who died Saturday, will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes next Monday, Jan 6 at 10 a.m.
The two-time Melbourne Mayor, long-time Florida House member and current Melbourne Councilman died at the age of 75 after collapsing at his home.

Goode was born in Melbourne on March 6, 1938, and after graduating from Melbourne High School, attended Florida Southern College and Rollins College. He was a descendant of Jesse and Richard W. Goode who were one of the founding families of Melbourne.
Goode previously served as Melbourne Mayor from 1979 to 1986, and then served in the Florida House of Representatives for 14 years.
He also previously served as the City’s voting delegate/director on the Space Coast League of Cities, and was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Florida League of Mayors in November 2005.
Goode has been a member of the Florida League of Cities Advocacy Committee and the Florida League of Cities Federal Action Strike Team.
He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963, and was a local independent business owner before retirement.
Other public service included serving on the Melbourne Regional Airport Authority 1980-1986; Florida League of Cities 1979-1986; and U.S. Conference of Mayors 1980-1986.Goodes affiliations included serving on the Florida Institute of Technology Corporation Board of Directors, Space Coast Science Center Board of Directors, Florida-Columbia Partners, Space Coast Early Intervention Center Advisory Board Member and Friends of the Scrub Jay Board Member.
