Pence was once again dominant on the mound this past week for the Panther softball team, as they began Sunshine State Conference play. Pence tossed two shutouts against No 7 Tampa this past weekend. The shutouts helped the Panthers post a 1-0 and 2-0 victory as the squad took the series from the Spartans.

Pence threw a pair of complete games for a total of 14 shutout innings. She allowed just 12 hits in the two games, did not walk a batter, and struck out nine.

The victories ran Pence’s record to 7-1 on the season as the Panthers improved to 11-4 overall and 2-1 in SSC play. For her play last week, Pence was named the SSC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season.

Cameron and the men’s and women’s track and field programs will be back in action Mar. 13-14 at the USF Invitational in Tampa. Pence and the Panther softball team will return to Nancy Bottge Field Wednesday when they host Flagler for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. ET.
