Palm Bay Police Seek Burglary Suspect Ryan Sterk

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Detectives have identified a suspect wanted in connection with a burglary which was captured on a homeowner’s security cameras in late February.

According to the Palm Bay Police Department, the suspect is identified as Ryan Michael Sterk, 30, and is currently being sought for charges involving burglary, credit card theft and petit theft.

The burglary occurred on February 25 between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Gera St. NW.  The suspect is seen in the video lurking around the home and then entering through a rear window. The point of entry was next to a bedroom where the victims were sleeping.

The suspect spent approximately three minutes inside and stole the contents of a wallet before fleeing out the same window he entered.  While on patrol in the area where the burglary occurred, Officer A. Farmer encountered an individual that looked like the person in the video.

At the same time, detectives had already received a tip through CRIMELINE that provided the same name of the person Officer Farmer was with.  Further investigation confirmed Sterk was the suspect seen in the video.

“He stole the victim’s credit cards, military identification, passport photos and $80 cash,” said Detective M. Ramos.  “This investigation is ongoing and there is a possibility of additional charges.”

Detectives currently have an active arrest warrant for Sterk.  Anyone with information on where Sterk is located should contact the Central Florida CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS.  Callers can remain anonymous and can be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 in this case.

Palm Bay Police Needs Help To ID Burglar

The burglary occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 25 between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Gera St. NW.

The suspect spent approximately three minutes inside and stole the contents of a wallet left on a counter top then fled out the same window he entered.

“There have been several burglaries in the area over the last few weeks,” said Detective M. Ramos.  “We believe if someone knows this individual they will recognize him in the video and we need them to contact us immediately before someone gets hurt.”

The suspect is described as a young white male believed to be in his late teens or early 20s.  He has light colored, curly hair and appeared to have been wearing glasses.  On the night of the burglary he was wearing a light colored hoody, light colored shorts, black socks and light colored skateboard style shoes.
