According to Matthews’ article, he “ranks schools through an index formula that’s a simple ratio: the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year, divided by the number of seniors who graduated that year. A ratio of 1.000 means the school had as many tests as graduates.”

Below are the rankings of Brevard high schools out of 211 schools within the state of Florida:

• Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School, Ranked 12
• West Shore Jr./Sr. High School, Ranked 17
• Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School, Ranked 39
• Rockledge High School, Ranked 123
• Melbourne High School, Ranked 164
• Viera High School, Ranked 184
• Merritt Island High School, Ranked 195
• Palm Bay High School, Ranked 200
• Astronaut High School, Ranked 210
• Bayside High School, Ranked 211
