COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA — Known as one of the Space Coast’s most iconic attractions, the Cocoa Beach Pier is receiving a fresh new round of renovations by its new ownership.

Billionaire David Siegel made major headlines when he purchased the pier from the Stottler family in April.
Siegel, who made his fortune through timeshares, also recently purchased a resort casino in Las Vegas, as well as the Orlando Predators arena football team.
Several upgrades are already noticeable, including, an extended awning, new menus at the restaurants and high tops for additional seating along the arm rail of the pier.
Part of our focus is to take advantage of the natural facilities around the pier,” Cocoa Beach Pier General Manager Rick Lohr said. “We’ve also opened up our retail outlets to make them more accessible and customer-friendly.

At Surf Dogs snack bar, turkey legs Nathan’s hot dogs have been added to the traditional menu.
Future upgrades will include a bait shack and brand new bathrooms. According to Lohr, new restrooms were a top request among patrons.
“We heard a number of comments about our restrooms,” Lohr said. “The first step we took was to clean those up, and we do that constantly to maintain a certain cleanliness level. By the end of July, we’ll have completely new restrooms, from top to bottom.
“I know people didn’t come here because of the condition of our restrooms. I think once they see what we do, it’s going to be a major enhancement to the pier’s overalls success.”
