Sheriff’s Agents Make Arrests At Surfs Up Adult Bookstore

SHERIFF’S AGENTS ASSIST COCOA BEACH WITH BUSINESS COMPLAINTS

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office culminated an investigation Tuesday into the complaints of ongoing illegal activities at the Surfs Up Adult Bookstore located at 285 West Columbia Lane, Cocoa Beach.

COCOA-BEACH-ARRESTS-2During July and August 2014, the Cocoa Beach Police Department requested the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office to assist by investigating complaints in reference to lewd acts occurring within the business.

On July 30, 2014, an investigation was conducted, which resulted in the arrest of 3 suspects:

• Charles Tarantola, 61, of Melbourne, Exposure of Sexual Organs, bond $500
• Michael E. Keefer, 52, of Cape Canaveral, Exposure of Sexual Organs, bond $500
• Timothy Harris, 55, of West Palm Beach, Exposure of Sexual Organs and Unnatural and Lascivious Act, bond $1,000

On August 12, 2014, a follow up investigation was conducted, which resulted in the arrest of eight additional suspects:

• Timothy Tidmore, 51, of Cocoa, Exposure of Sexual Organs, Unnatural and Lascivious Act, Escape, and Resisting with Violence, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, No bond
• Jerry Putteet, 54, of Mims, Exposure of Sexual Organs and Unnatural and Lascivious Act, bond $1,000
• William Ford, 47, of Palm Bay, Exposure of Sexual Organs, bond $500
• Hugh Pugh, 51, of Edgewater, Exposure of Sexual Organs, bond $500
• John Datz, 48, Cape Canaveral, Exposure of Sexual Organs, bond $500
• Lawrence Scott, 55, of Delaware, Exposure of Sexual Organs, bond $500
• Charles Norwood, 75, Rockledge, Exposure of Sexual Organs, bond $500
• Charles T. Radford, 69, Barefoot Bay, Exposure of Sexual Organs, $500

Each suspect was transported to the Brevard County Jail.
