Rosanne Cain, BSN, patient safety risk manager for The Doctors Company, is the recipient of an Ambassador Award from the Doctor’s Goodwill Foundation for contributions made to the wellbeing of the local community.
Ms. Cain is being recognized for providing lectures on patient safety topics twice annually at the foundation’s Expos.
The Expos are the main way the foundation raises funds to provide aid to disaster victims and scholarships to students pursing healthcare careers.
By providing lectures at these events, The Doctors Company has helped make these fundraising events a success. Physicians attending the lectures receive free CME.
Ms. Cain is one of 20 recipients of an Ambassador Award, which will be presented for the first time November 8 at the Ambassador Awards Dinner, held in conjunction with the Doctors’ Expo Health Fair and Health Insurance Expo at the Melbourne Hilton Rialto.
The Expo is taking place as part of Space Coast Medicine Week.
Founded by doctors for doctors in 1976, The Doctors Company is committed to relentlessly defending, protecting, and rewarding the practice of good medicine.
“The Doctors Company is proud of our association with the Doctor’s Goodwill Foundation, which began almost 11 years ago,” said Robin Diamond, MSN, JD, RN, senior vice president and chief patient safety officer for The Doctors Company.
“We support the foundation’s educational and philanthropic efforts by providing CME lectures on reducing risks and promoting patient safety.”
Ms. Cain, who works at The Doctors Company’s regional office in Jacksonville, is a member of the American Society of Legal Nurse Consultants and the Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management. She is a licensed healthcare risk manager, a registered nurse and a certified legal nurse consultant.
She has lectured on risk management, medical malpractice litigation process, and other health care topics as a faculty member of a three-year diploma nursing program, an administrator of home health care operations, a medical-legal consultant for malpractice attorneys, a risk manager of an international preventive health care company, and a patient safety consultant for medical malpractice liability carriers.
Ms. Cain has more than 30 years of experience, most of which were spent in the areas of quality assurance, medical malpractice litigation, and health care risk management.
She has authored policies and quality improvement plans, successfully leading teams through information security audits, and both URAC and NCQA accreditations. She has testified in court as both an expert and a material witness and prepared staff and experts before and during depositions and trials.
At the Upcoming Expo, Cain Will Present Lectures On:
• Mid-level Practitioners: Maximizing Assets and Reducing Risks
