BCSO, Public Works Providing Free Sandbags

MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA — In response to the heavy rain threat today and possibly again on Wednesday, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Brevard County Public Works are distributing free sandbags to residents today at two locations:

  • Kings Park, 995 Chase Hammock Road, north Merritt Island, until 2:30 p.m.
  • Brevard Sheriff’s Farm, 2955 Pluckebaum Road, Cocoa, until 3 p.m.

Each resident is limited to 10 sandbags, which will be filled and loaded into your cars by supervised Inmate Work Crews. For more information, please call the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office at 321 -633-1967 or Brevard County Public Works at (321) 637-5438.
