Three Killed After Vehicle Strikes Tree, Catches Fire on I-95 in Palm Bay

Three people were killed Tuesday morning after a vehicle veered off Interstate 95, struck a tree and caught fire in Palm Bay, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Three people were killed Tuesday morning after a vehicle veered off Interstate 95, struck a tree and caught fire in Palm Bay, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 9:49 a.m. near mile marker 172, south of State Road 514 in Brevard County.

According to preliminary evidence, a 2025 Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound in the center lane of I-95 when it veered off the right side of the roadway.

A witness told investigators that the vehicle collided with a tree before catching fire.

FHP confirmed that three adults were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released pending official confirmation and notification of their families.

The outside northbound lane of I-95 is currently blocked in the area as troopers investigate the crash.

Motorists should expect delays and use caution while traveling through the area.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
