Dr. Frank X. VENZARA III opens MEDICAL practice

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Dr. Frank Venzara III hosted their Grand Opening Celebration of Florida Retina Specialist on Tuesday, September 30 at his new offices located at 280 North Sykes Creek Parkway in Merritt Island.

The Venzara name has been a well known and respected one in the Brevard County medical community for parts of four decades, as his father Dr. Frank X. Venzara II, a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon since the mid 80s in the area, has a longstanding reputation for being talented, compassionate and caring.
STATE OF THE ART CLINIC FEATURING ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
After receiving extensive education and training, the younger Dr. Venzara has moved back to the Space Coast to open his medical practice.
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Florida Society of Ophthalmology, and the Christian Ophthalmology Society.
“Our clinic is equipped with the latest in advanced diagnostic technology,” said Dr. Venzara, “including the Heidelberg Spectralis OCT retinal imaging system, Iridex laser system with new micropulse technology, along with fluorescein angiography – and access to the latest intraocular injection drugs.”
A native of Merritt Island, Dr. Venzara received a biomedical engineering degree and medical degree from the University of Miami. He spent a full year performing research at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute where he published articles in peer reviewed journals and presented his work at multiple national meetings.

Dr. Venzara went on to Texas A&M Scott & White Eye Institute where he completed a four year internship and ophthalmology residency training program and served as chief resident.
Following residency, Dr. Venzara completed a two year surgical retina fellowship at one of the most surgically intensive retina programs in the country. While at the Retina Consultants of Alabama fellowship program at the U.A.B. Callahan Eye Hospital, Dr. Venzara performed over 1,100 retina surgery cases, which is greater than 2.5 times the national average for retina fellows.
“We focus on all aspects of the retina,” said Dr. Venzara, whose expertise includes macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, flashes and floaters, trauma, retinal detachment/tears, macular hole/membrane, infections/inflammation, vascular occlusive disease and cataract complications.
