BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA — Jamar Carter, a 20-year-old Cocoa man, has been arrested on felony charges after police say he allegedly grabbed and restrained a DoorDash driver while naked during a food delivery on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Cocoa Police Department, officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of West King Street at approximately 1:07 p.m. after receiving a report of an assault involving a food delivery driver.

Cocoa police said the victim arrived at the home to deliver a Denny’s order that had been placed through DoorDash.

According to the arrest report, when she approached the residence, Carter opened the front door completely nude.

The victim told police that upon seeing Carter naked in the doorway, she immediately dropped the food order and attempted to return to her vehicle.

However, a Cocoa police spokesperson said Carter grabbed the victim by the right hip, restrained her movement, and pressed himself against her from behind.

The victim struggled to get away, and Carter allegedly grabbed her buttocks as she attempted to flee.

The victim told Cocoa police that as she continued moving toward her vehicle, Carter shouted, “Where the [expletive] do you think you’re going?”

After reaching the safety of her vehicle, the woman called 911 and reported the incident.

When questioned by officers, Carter reportedly denied placing the DoorDash order and claimed he was not home at the time of the incident.

However, investigators said they later discovered an email receipt confirming the food delivery order had been placed.

Following the investigation, Carter was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and attempted sexual battery and was transported to the Brevard County Jail.

The case remains under investigation.
